Sentinel HASP SaaS Pass prevents end-users from sharing their subscriptions by locking the end-user machine with a pre-defined license/subscription model, and requiring login to SaaS services with machine authentication. This effectively ties access to the service to an authorized machine (one on which a software client has been previously activated using the Sentinel HASP Activation Server).

The solution is based on a small client application installed on the end-user's machine (or machines) that communicates over the Internet with a server-side application in the service provider data center. This client application is responsible for passing encrypted login information to the provider's server, which can then authenticate the user and that service access is being attempted from an authorized machine.

Aladdin provides two additional components to Sentinel HASP that enable the SaaS Pass functionality; the SaaS Pass Login Application and the SaaS Pass Web Service Module.

The login application, which service providers distribute to their customers, is fully customizable. All operations, including distribution and pre-activation of the login application, can be handled over the Internet to minimize logistics costs.

The Sentinel HASP SaaS Pass Web Service Module integrates with the SaaS provider's existing Web application. As a standard Web service, the module interoperates with any server platform.
